Battle Odyssey is a mobile puzzle-RPG developed by Gameloft. The game takes place in Pondera, a fantasy world filled with magic and threatening evil. We play as heroes who will fight with many enemies in order to save the world. During combat, we drag our finger on the device's screen to link as many orbs of the same color as possible. That is the way we attack and deal damage to our enemies.
Battle Odyssey, released on AND and iOS, is another production by Gameloft - one of the biggest companies in the mobile gaming market. This time, the creators of such projects as Age of Sparta, N.O.V.A. or Asphalt decided to prove themselves in the popular match-3 genre.
Plot
The action takes place in the fantastical world of Pondera - full of magic and evil threatening all its inhabitants. Players take on the role of heroes traveling through successive locations, where they have to fight against enemies.
Mechanics
The gameplay boils down to drawing lines on crystals of the same color, located next to each other. We do this to deal damage. The longer the chain, the more damage the enemy takes. In addition, we recruit new characters and develop their powers, so that we can face stronger opponents in later stages.
Technical aspects
The graphics in Battle Odyssey are decent. Crystals are displayed at the bottom of the screen while attack animations, characters, etc. are presented at the top. Every now and then we can also see various explosions and flashes.
