In the second installment of Barbarian await us small changes. First of all, the player can choose from among two heroes (apart from Gorth, Marianna, who was a guest in the original as a prisoner of Drax, becomes charming to fight). The second novelty is the change in the philosophy of the game. The times when we automatically switched to the next arena after killing an opponent arena are over. Here, the player has more freedom: they can travel through individual locations and decide for themselves where they want to go. The last change is a greater number of opponents, among whom we will meet not only people, but also bizarre creatures. Some of them are small in size, which means that most of our blows are not able to reach them, while others overwhelm us, and here the best way to fight is to try to chop off the head quickly. The assortment of available strokes has remained practically unchanged, only the possibility of running and jumping has been added, which will often be useful for overcoming terrain obstacles. It is also worth noting that the player has a few "lives", so that after death it will not be necessary to travel through the whole land from the beginning.
In Barbarian 2, the visual setting has improved significantly. Players can choose from several graphical modes, of which the most impressive is EGA in 16 colours. The quality is also much better: all characters are more clearly drawn and perfectly animated. The backgrounds also show a higher level of sky.
