Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush is a game produced by the Powerhead Games development team aimed at young audiences. Players get to know the adventures of young amateurs of American football, who persistently train to take part in spectacular backyard matches of teams. The game is set on arcade elements.

Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush, released on PC, X360, Wii and NDS, is the second attempt after Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers to refresh the popular series of sports games for the youngest players. The game was developed by HB Studios.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush has little to do with realism. Admittedly, matches are played with respect for the basic rules of American football, but the gameplay is rather arcade, and during the matches, players can use various special attacks and moves (e.g. Banana Peel, Twinkle Toes and Stinky Pants). The creators also took care to diversify the fun through mini-games related to the training of characters and teams.
