ATV: Quad Power Racing is one of the most famous console racers. This time we are dealing with a pocket edition of this game, released on GameBoy Advance. It is worth noting that the first part of the series was released simultaneously on the PlayStation. Quad Power Racing has also been officially continued and released on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube. A small studio called Tantalus Interactive is responsible for the production of this pocket version, which was also prepared by Top Gear Rally. This item does not have any multiplayer modes. It was created solely with a single player in mind.

The title of this game rightly suggests that we are dealing here with quad races, or four-wheeled motorcycles. Nine machines are at the player's disposal. Individual quads differ not only in appearance, but also in behaviour on the route or performance. It is therefore important to adapt the machine to the races ahead of us. What's interesting, the next quads have to be unlocked, because at first we can't use them. The same applies to the routes prepared by the manufacturers. The races are held on ten different tracks. It is worth noting at this point that they are very diverse. We have here both desert areas and dense jungle. Despite the fact that only one path leads to the destination and the use of shortcuts is not possible, the game rewards good knowledge of the route, so you can increase your chances of winning.

The driving model is quite realistic. Of course, it should be remembered that this is a pocket version of the game, not a fully fledged version. Still, you have to be wise about the next corners, and be careful about the many obstacles, including huge boulders. The authors have also foreseen the possibility of using various power-ups. They usually allow to accelerate a given machine, or temporarily increase its strength. Visually, ATV Quad Power Racing presents a very high level of performance. This is one of the few GBA races that use a three-dimensional game environment.
