Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is a Japanese RPG with a fairytale fantasy atmosphere. The game was developed by the Gust studio, the team responsible for all previous instalments of the series.

Plot

According to the title, in terms of the plot, the game is a direct continuation of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. Once again, we play the alchemist named Ryza. This is the first case in the history of this cycle when one character is the main heroine in two parts of the cycle.

The action of the game starts three years after the events from the previous part. Ryza was the only member of her team that decided to stay on the island of Kurken. He leaves it only when he receives a letter from an old friend asking for a meeting in the capital of the kingdom of Ashra-am Baird. On the spot, the girl gets involved in an intrigue that will force her to try to discover the secrets of the ruins surrounding the city.

Mechanics

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy extends the ideas from the previous installments. So we get a complex jRPG, where the gameplay focuses on the alchemical system, forcing us to deal with complicated recipes, a rich selection of ingredients and complex systems based on mini games.

During the game we explore the world, develop characters from the team, complete tasks and fight. The battles are played out in real time and we have to give orders quickly. During clashes the characters also accumulate points, which are used to activate special abilities.

Compared to the previous parts, many gameplay elements have been improved. The heroine can now dive and use magic ropes, which greatly increases the freedom to explore the world. A synthesis system has also been developed, which now allows you to play back damaged objects.

The game is designed for single player mode only.
