Asphalt Urban GT is one of the first car racing games released on the Nintendo DS console. This title, which is actually a conversion from Nokia N-Gage platform, was developed and published by Ubisoft.

Asphalt Urban GT combines the best elements of an arcade game and simulation. Players can jump into one of the 23 licensed cars (including Lamborghini Diablo, Hummer, VW New Beetle, Jaguar) and race them on 8 tracks located in the world’s largest metropolises (New York, Miami, Paris, Tokyo). As you begin the game, you receive a a small amount of in-game dollars in order to purchase one of the available cars. The rest of the money can be earned and later spent on customizing over 30 elements of your car (improved engine, better tires, brakes, etc.). The authors offer five play modes, including single race, tournaments, in which you unlock and customize new cars, or the pursuit mode, where one player chases the other one in a police car. The console’s touchscreen serves as a mini-map, showing the current situation on the road.

The game offers decent graphics with accurate car models and cities, as well as dynamic music to keep the adrenaline flowing. Up to four people can compete together in a tournament via Wi-Fi.
