As We Descend is a strategy card game with roguelike elements and a turn-based skirmish system. The title was developed by Swedish independent studio Box Dragon and published by Coffee Stain Publishing.

W?AsWe Descend? Wefind ourselves in the City-Crypto, located in a dark, post-apocalyptic universe. We take on the role of a member of one of the three main factions , on whose shoulders rests the fate of the last asylum for the remnants of humanity.

An important element of the storyline is navigating complex political realities and uncovering the mystery of the metropolis.

Gameplay

The central point?AsWe Descend?isthe City, which serves as the main base of operations. In it, we establish relationships with residents, engage in politics, gain allies and recruit troops.

Units have a unique set of cards and abilities. The deck can be modified by adding, removing or upgrading cards to suit specific challenges.

Each approach to the game is unique thanks to procedurally generated events. As you traverse three randomized biomes, you discover secrets and acquire tools that help you in subsequent attempts to reach the core of the land. In the event of defeat, the experience and knowledge gained make future games easier.

During skirmishes, it is crucial to strategically place units between the Defense Zone and the Support Zone to avoid enemy attacks and create an effective line of defense.
