Arcomage is a simple, card mini-game, which was originally an element of the game cRPG Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor and Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. However, players liked the game to such an extent that the publisher - 3DO Company decided to release also its own version.

Game, whose action was set in the realities of fantasy, is devoid of a clearly outlined plot. The player plays the role of a powerful magician, who has to protect his magical tower with various spells and at the same time defeat the competitor.

Mechanics of the game is based on very simple rules. Each player has a deck of cards with spells, a tower and a defensive wall. At the same time there can be 6 randomly picked cards in the player's hand. Their use depends on having a large amount of raw materials generated in each round - jewels (spells with a tower), bricks (spells with a wall) and undergrounds (spells with beasts).

The game is divided into rounds. Depending on the defined variant of the game, the condition to win is to destroy the opponent's tower (bringing it to level 0), expand your own tower to the indicated height or collect a large amount of one of the raw materials.

Self-sufficient release of Arcomage is characterized by a simple, two-dimensional graphics straight from the original mini-game. The novelty is only a multiplayer mode, allowing you to compete with your living opponent via LAN or the Internet.
