Another Case Solved, released on iOS, PC, etc., is an unusual detective game, combining the features of "match 3" logic game with elements of adventure games and RPG. The game was created by ATGames - authors of the highly regarded Puzzle Craft. The title is available in the free-to-play model.

Plot

Another Case Solved allows you to play the role of a detective in the times of... candy prohibition. Sweets trade goes underground and becomes the domain of the mafia. Gangs are constantly fighting for influence, and even officials and politicians are involved in illegal activities. In these uninteresting times, there is no shortage of work for detective offices, where not only ordinary citizens, but also journalists, film stars, and even the police and smaller criminals turn to for help. The player takes on the role of one of such detectives, who by solving successive criminal riddles, decorates the office and develops their character.

Mechanics

The first task we have to face is to find a cat of a girl in exchange for half of her pocket money. This task also serves as a tutorial, introducing the mechanics of the game. The real challenges await us later and they are divided into two main types: newspaper and story. Their common element is the first stage of the investigation, in which, following the example of "match 3" games, we have to combine clue icons into the longest possible chains. Newspaper orders consist of only the first stage. In story orders, the next step is to find the suspect, which is similar to the popular Guess Who?. By asking a certain number of questions related to the appearance of the characters in the pictures, we eliminate people who don't meet the criteria. In the last two stages of the investigation, following various guidelines, we have to find a place on the map and start investigation.

The game has been enriched with simple RPG elements: at the beginning of the game, we create our character from scratch and then develop it, modifying the appearance and learning new skills (active or passive) from four different skill trees. We can also develop our office, and the purchase of other items of equipment results in a variety of facilities and bonuses.

Technical aspects

Another Case Solved boasts a large dose of humor, quite good graphics and soundtrack maintained in the atmosphere of detective films from the Prohibition era.
