Plot

In Anomorphine for PC and PS4 players assume the role of Tyler – a young man, whose wife was in an accident that ruined her cello career. The protagonist feels guilty for not being able to help her and runs into the world of memories reliving the most important moments of their lives – with time, even that world is affected by Tyler's deteriorating mental health condition.

Mechanics

In the PC and PS4 release of Anamorphine, players observe the action from the first person perspective. The most important aspect of gameplay is exploration - one cannot collect items nor talk to NPCs. During the game, one gets to visit i.a. Tyler and Elena's trashed apartment, and the concert hall where the artist used to perform. All the locations become more and more surreal, which represents the deteriorating condition of the main protagonist's mental health. Interestingly enough, the game tells the story without any words - the developers have limited their game to symbolic images and sounds.

Technical aspects

Anamorphine for PC and PS4 features decent-quality visuals (the oneiric game world is bound to catch the players' attention with its original style) and atmospheric soundtrack that accompanies players on their journey. The game supports Virtual Reality headgear, nonetheless, it is not necessary for playing the game.
