Alt-Minds is an unusual adventure by Lexis Numérique, a studio specializing in experimental projects. The player conducts his own investigation looking for websites, contacting fictitious characters and even visiting locations in the real world.
Alt-Minds is a paranormal thriller that blurs the lines between web series, gaming and real life.
Our story begins at Belgrade University where five scientists have mysteriously disappeared. An official police investigation fails to secure any leads, and so the foundation financing the missing researchers hires private detectives to help track them down.
Now you are going to help them.
By using your laptop, mobile phone or tablet PC; checking your e-mail, text messages and well-known social networks, you become completely immersed. The Alt-Minds fiction becomes your everyday life. In so doing you live through a new and incredible experience.
Piecing it all together
Every element Alt-Minds functions in parallel with one another, but can also be enjoyed separately. For example, it is possible to follow the web series without taking part in the investigative gameplay, or to enjoy the associated casual games without ever exploring the wider universe of Alt-Minds.
Your role in this investigation can take place exclusively via tablet PC, mobile phone, laptop or any combination of these devices. However, by moving from one element to another within the Alt-Minds universe the sense of immersion is designed to become so much greater.
Follow at your own pace
Should you decide to pursue the investigation in real time (the most immersive mode of Alt-Minds) the adventure takes place as though it were live. You assist in new developments of the investigation at the same pace as the characters themselves, and participate in all missions.
However, should you wish to adopt a more casual approach Alt-Minds offers a Catch Up mode that permits the opportunity to become involved in real time events.
