AlphaLink is a multiplayer action game with shooter and platform game elements, developed by Black Hive studio. Project was born as a single-player metroidvania called Kova, but during the development the concept changed radically.

AlphaLink is a multiplayer action game with shooter and platform game elements, developed by Black Hive studio. Game was originally planned as a metroidvania entitled Kova, designed only for single player. However, the concept has changed radically and the project transformed into a multiplayer game, retaining many of the game mechanics of the original game.

Mechanics

In the game we compete in four-player battles on small, closed arenas. Players fight mainly using various firearms and lasers. Game mechanics itself was inspired by the platform games. Battles are fought in two dimensions, and the maps are full of platforms on which you can jump.

Players can choose between several factions offering unique features and an extensive arsenal of weapons. The game also offers a development system that allows you to unlock new skills using experience points earned during battles.

Between battles we go to the hub, where we can talk to NPCs and learn about new events from the game universe.

Game modes

AlphaLink offers mainly multiplayer mode, but we can find here some solo missions. There is an option of online play and to compete on a shared screen.

Technical aspects

The game features attractive 2D graphics in a slightly cartoonish style. An additional attraction is a large selection of cosmetic items, which only change the appearance of our character, and do not affect his abilities.
