An SF adventure game developed by Benjamin Rivers – the creators of the horror game Home. In Alone With You the player assumes the role of a colonist who is a lone survivor of a catastrophe that befell his base on an alien planet that will be completely destroyed in the span of a single month. You cannot leave the planet as the only spaceship available is broken and the hero has neither knowledge nor abilities to make it work again.
Alone With You for PS4 and PSV is an S-F adventure game developed by Benjamin Rivers, the studio responsible for a horror game called Home.
Plot
You take control of a colonist who survived the base catastrophe on an alien planet which will be completely destroyed in a month. To make matters worse, the only spaceship available is broken and the hero has no knowledge nor abilities to make it work again. However, the base’s advanced AI comes to his aid – it suggests reconstructing four dead colonists and using them to remove the malfunctions of the vessel.
Gameplay
Characteristically for adventure games, Alone With You published on PS4 and PSV revolves around exploration and solving puzzles. The core element of the game is the relation system responsible for establishing the nature of relationships with both the AI and the colonists. This aspect is completely dynamic – your decisions and conversations shape your companions’ attitude towards the hero and the direction in which the story develops. Relations with other characters do not consist only of friendships – you can have a romance as well. This elements is carried out differently than in most games where love is a reward for actions imposed on you. Here, the relations are shaped dynamically and smoothly, so it is difficult to foresee what will happen. The rejected ones will carry resentment in their hearts until the end of the story.
