The Trigger is the fifth and the last DLC for Alien: Isolation by Creative Assembly, being a part of the season pass. Much like the second DLC, Trauma, this add-on does not add any new game modes, but focuses on the Survivor Mode.
Taking place before the events of the original game, The Trigger allows the player to assume the role of Ricardo, who tries to get rid of the xenomorph in cooperation with his superior. Putting his own life at risk, he sets out to find a lost of colleague of his who possesses a set of explosives able to kill the deadly alien. As Ricardo, we traverse three previously unknown areas of the Sevastopol station, such as the warehouse storing inactive robots, hiding from the Alien and androids who are just as deadly.
The developers themselves say that The Trigger might offer the biggest challenge for the fans of survival. The new maps are filled with narrow passages in which it is hard to find a hiding place, while the Alien is still hunting and is no less fast and sensitive to the player’s activity. Ricardo’s situation is made no easier by the androids roaming the station and the ticking clock.
