Safe Haven is the third DLC being a part of the season pass for the critically acclaimed first-person survival horror set in the Alien universe. It introduces a new variant of gameplay to the survival mode. Just like the basic version of Alien: Isolation, the new content was created by Creative Assembly.
Safe Haven extends the survival mode of Alien: Isolation with a new mode of acquiring resources. The player assumes the role of Hughes, signaler on the Sevastopol station, who could be encountered in the original game as a non-playable character. The protagonist manages to find a safe haven from the bloodthirsty xenomorph and rebelled androids, but runs out of supplies. Hughes must therefore gather strength and courage to come out of the hiding and find something to help him survive in and eventually escape the station for good.
The main goal is to complete a series of nine challenges which require to cunningly sneak around the durable enemies. The whole is made even more difficult by the bigger size of the map and the fact that the player has only one life – death is permanent and forces to start over. Every task performed is awarded with points which grant access to additional resources. The final score goes to the general player rank.
