Albion is a futuristic cRPG developed by Blue Byte, the creators of the popular Settlers series. The action starts in 2227 onboard a spaceship Toronto. We assume the role of Tom Driscoll, a pilot who works for the DDT corporation. Toronto is a huge mining ship which was sent out with the mission of finding resources and minerals from a newly discovered desert planet of Albion.
During reconnaissance of the planet’s surface, Tom’s ship crashes. Once he and his companions have gotten out of the wreckage, they find out that, much to their surprise, the planet is inhabited by a huge variety of alien life forms. Their task is to discover the secrets of the new world and to find Toronto. The mission becomes even more difficult when the AI that drives the ship decides to eliminate all life on Albion in the name of DDT interests.
The game utilizes both 2D isometric view (for the world map and buildings) and fully-3D (for villages and dungeons). The turn-based system resembles the one from Fallout.
