AionGuard is an unusual game combining action and strategy elements, created by the Swedish company Avalanche. The Scandinavian developer is known for the Just Cause series, the first part of which gained very high marks and recognition of many players.

Plot

The creators of AionGuard opted for a large fantastical open world. The land presented in the game is inhabited by numerous tribes, but also dragons and other great flying beasts. In the game, we stand on the side of the titular faction called AionGuard, which tries to save its own civilization from annihilation. Our task is to take control of particular areas, defended by both wild beasts and powerful Nazurbaal magicians, which destroys the planet by sucking out magical energy from it.

The main characters are the soldiers of the aforementioned AionGuard, a combination of samurai, knights and fighter pilots from World War One. These warriors take advantage of extraordinary technology - symbiotic armor, which connects with the user for a lifetime, but in return receive magical skills and incredible power.

Mechanics

While playing, we can command huge armies. The most important point during the attack on individual areas is capturing an enemy fortress. The battles happen between hundreds of units. Besides participating in battles, it is also worth exploring the huge open world. In many cases, we can block the enemy's supplies or cut off the enemy's headquarters from the source of energy. Another option is to make friends with local tribes to gain military support.
