Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend

Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend is a large expansion to Age of Empires IV, the fourth installment in a bestselling RTS series owned by Microsoft. It was co-developed by four studios: Relic Entertainment, Forgotten Empires, Climax Studios and World's Edge.

Plot

The biggest new feature in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend is a new story campaign set in the Middle East. We play as a Muslim resistance fighting against the invading crusaders. We'll meet famous historical leaders, such as Saladin, fightign against the Holy Order of the Templars, the Teutonic Knights, hospital orders and the Mongols.

Mechanics

Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend introduces eight new story missions. The expansion features both land and naval combat. It also adds new heroes, abilities and mechanics.

Two new civilizations have been added - the Japanese and the Byzantines. The fourth civilizations known from the base game have received alternative versions. There are also some entirely new maps and rewards to unlock.

Game modes

Just like the base game, Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend supports solo play and multiplayer.

Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend is a non-standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Age of Empires IV.
