The first expansion for Against the Storm - a city builder strategy game with roguelike elements. Keepers of the Stone still forces us to build villages and deal with harsh environment. The biggest novelties are the water biome and a playable race of frogs.
Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone is an expansion for Against the Storm, a Polish city builder strategy game focused on survival in harsh environmental conditions. The add-on allows us to command frogs skilled in stone masonry.
Plot
Just like in the base game, in Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone we learn about the struggles of animal-like creatures in a fantasy world threatened by a strong, destructive storm. The add-on offers a new land - Coastal Grove. Emerging from the water, it attracts the attention of the frog species with the ruins of age-old settlements hiding valuable items.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone combines mechanics known from city builder type strategies with elements of roguelike titles. We build small settlements in a challenging environment, having limited resources for this. There is also a limited time to achieve certain goals.
The DLC allows us to experience new water exploration mechanics thanks to the playable frog species. Their new settlements are always located on the shore of a lake. These creatures are also skilled in masonry. Thanks to the construction of the Strider Port, we are able to organize expeditions to find sunken treasures. For this purpose, we need to take care of food supplies for both the Water Strider and its "driver".
In addition, we can face 12 new challenges.
