Afterblast is a shooter with roguelike elements. The game was developed by the independent Polish studio Lumino Games from Cracow, for which it is a debut project.

Plot

The action of Afterblast takes place in a distant galaxy, where magic and technology coexist. When the sinister deities formed an alliance, wanting to obtain the Crystal of Eternity that would provide them with unimaginable power, the whole world stood on the brink of destruction. However, all is not lost, because the chosen ones, endowed with the power of immortality, show up to fight. The heroes traverse planets and engage in fierce battles with the forces of evil, trying to recover the stolen crystals.

Mechanics

In Afterblast we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). While traveling through various locations, we focus primarily on eliminating adversaries. Among them, we will find both rank-and-file enemies attacking in hordes, as well as elite adversaries and powerful bosses.

We primarily deal with the forces of evil using a wide range of firearms, including machine guns and sniper rifles, shotguns, as well as more inventive, futuristic blasters. As we progress, we develop the character through various combat skills and upgrades. Additionally, special obelisks are scattered around the arenas, which provide us with temporary enhancements.

Individual levels are procedurally generated, as are the skills and equipment we acquire along the way and the opponents we face. Thanks to this, each playthrough looks different from the previous one. Death in the game means being reborn and starting the entire murderous journey all over again. Battle-hardened players can expect optional challenges here, offering the opportunity to win special rewards.

Game modes

Afterblast can be played alone or in cooperative mode (via the Internet or local network).
