The Plot

The game takes us on a journey through a surreal world filled with mysteries and secrets. The plot is told mostly through animated cutscenes and tells the story of a journey of a father and son who go separated by space and time.

Mechanics

Gameplay in After the End: Forsaken Destiny for AND and iOS is presented from an isometric perspective. The game offers twelve diversified levels for us to explore where we will find more and more complex puzzles to solve that will progress the plot. Some of them will only require us to pull a lever; some will force us to manipulate the game’s environment or the camera angle. What is interesting is the fact that some of the levels got their alternative versions which we explore as the father. We will also find collectibles like gems and the pieces of statuettes that will allow us to rebuild statues of the forgotten ancestors.

Misc.

Controls in After the End: Forsaken Destiny for AND and iOS are based on a virtual analog joystick and context buttons that appear the moment our character moves close to an interactive object. The game has eye-pleasing 3D visuals similar in style to those from Journey or Monument Valley.
