AFL Live is a sports game which is an extensive simulation of Australian football games. The title was produced by Big Ant studio and is licensed by the Australian Football League (AFL). Players direct the actions of their favourite AFL teams and take part in exciting matches played on oval fields.
AFL Live Description
AFL Live, released on PC, PS3 and X360, is an attempt by Tru Blu Entertainment to remind players of an acclaimed series of sports games created by IR Gurus Interactive studio (currently Transmission Games). The development of the title was entrusted to the Big Ant Studios team, known, among others, from Rugby League Live.
Mechanics
The creators of AFL Live have made sure that the gameplay in AFL Live not only complies with the official rules of Australian football, but also reflects the atmosphere of this discipline. Introduced innovations allowed, among others, to increase the dynamics of matches by playing the ball faster, but also provided players with greater freedom in creating actions and responding to situations on the pitch.
Game modes
AFL Live allows players to direct the actions of their favourite teams. The game's database includes 17 authentic teams of the Australian Football League and the names of real players entered for the 2011 season. The fully functional Footy Factory editor also enables you to generate your own teams and football players.
The game offers 6 game modes. Players can play a single match, take part in a NAB Cup, play a full season of Toyota AFL Premiership, and create their own league or final. The whole is complemented by a training mode, which is a kind of tutorial and allows a better understanding of the rules of this sport.
Technical aspects
As for the graphics, AFL Live is based on the engine used in the previous production of Big Ant - Rugby League Live. The developers took care of, among other things, careful mapping of 12 stadiums where virtual matches take place, natural-looking player animations and a fully functional multiplayer mode available both locally (shared screen) and via the Internet.
NOTE: The game is also available in the Game of the Year edition. It contains an updated database of teams (new team - Sydney Giants) and players from the 2012 season, as well as an additional arena - Skoda Stadium.
