The Ace Combat 3D is the next installment of the legendary aeronautical simulation series, this time for the Nintendo 3DS console and using its main asset - the 3D image.
As in other parts of this console cycle, gameplay in Ace Combat 3D has little to do with realism and simulation of sitting at the helm of a real combat aircraft. The creators, Namco Bandai studio, decidedly focused on a skillful model of fun, emphasizing the pure, unrestricted pleasure full of emotions and spectacular explosions of flights.
Once again, we are taking part in a political intrigue on which the fate of the whole world is at stake. There are several dramatic and varied missions ahead of us, during which there is no shortage of elements characteristic of the Ace Combat series - such as air chases and improbable manoeuvres. Despite the very loose approach to realism, in the game we sit at the helm of the most real machines, each of which is different in terms of driving style and weaponry.
Ace Combat 3D takes full advantage of Nintendo's portable console. In addition to the use of 3D technology, an interesting variety of gameplay is the ability to use a touch screen for more precise targeting of enemies. Also, the graphic design does not differ from other products of this kind available on Nintendo 3DS.
