Accounting is an original game developed by Crows Crows Crows and Squanchtendo with virtual reality sets in mind. The title was released on PC, and over time it saw a console port - it appeared on PlayStation 4 as Accounting+.
Story
In Accounting, players take on the the role of an accountant working for Smith & Smitherson, whose task is to test the VR goggles - an invention designed to improve his work. The experiment quickly slips out of control and the hero is forced to travel through subsequent levels of virtual reality on a recursive basis.
Mechanics
In Accounting the action is observed from FPP. During the game we can freely look around the environment by moving our heads, while interacting with the elements of the environment is possible thanks to motion controllers, with the help of which we control two cursors that are equivalents of the hands of the protagonist.
Interestingly, the game, which takes less than an hour to complete, is devoid of many of the traditional aspects of a video game, such as the overriding goal or the possibility of failure. In order to push the action forward and move on to the next level of virtual reality, we usually have to perform a specific action, such as putting on the goggles or drinking a suspicious drink. It should be noted that the whole thing was enriched with a solid dose of absurd humor, while the characters we meet and the locations we visit gradually become more and more surreal.
Technical aspects
Accounting features decent graphics and the lines spoken by the NPCs have been fully voiced. The cartoonish visuals can be a bit misleading - the game is intended only for adult viewers.
The PS4 version, released as Accounting+, is twice as big as the original PC edition - completely new locations are waiting to be visited, which greatly extends the gameplay time.
