7th Legion is a real-time strategy created by South African studio Vision in collaboration with Epic Megagames, in which two factions face each other: the title Seven Legions and the Chosen. The game was created on the wave of popularity of the Command & Conquer series and offers a similar gameplay mechanics, enriched with several innovative solutions.

The plot of the game takes us into a distant future, in which due to the overpopulation of the Earth there has been almost complete degradation of our globe. It was then that the human race began a frenzied search for a colonizable planet that could become its new home. However, this honour could be granted to only a few Earthly people, called the Chosen. The rest of humanity remained on the Blue Planet, which was divided into zones called legions and focused on actions aimed at restoring the biological balance of the Earth. After years of hard work, a partial success was achieved, and the once separate zones united under the common flag of the Seventh Legion. Meanwhile, the mission of the Chosen ends in failure, and the former inhabitants of the Earth return home with the intention of reclaiming the Blue Planet at the hands of its legitimate owners.

In the game, we are on the side of one of the factions and we take part in a fictional campaign, consisting of 15 missions for each side. Most of the tasks boils down to the efficient expansion of the base and repelling the enemy's attacks, but there are also tasks in which we have at our disposal a pre-determined unit, and to perform a specific reconnaissance or sabotage task. The gameplay mechanics is based on typical RTS patterns, although the authors of the game have tried to introduce a few proprietary solutions. For example, the necessity to obtain raw materials was completely abandoned, and the only factor necessary for development is the money obtained for the elimination of enemy units. The second innovation is the introduction of special random cards to the game. Each of the more than 50 cards has its own specific action, such as granting extra cash, weakening enemy troops, strengthening the hitting power of units or giving them special skills. Thanks to this we will be able to reverse the fate of many of the battles played.

The 7th Legion graphic design resembles the popular Command & Conquer, although in contrast to it is a bit more economical and colorful. The models of the units were modelled on those known from Warhammer 40,000. The authors took care of a wide range of fun variants: in addition to the fiction campaign, we can also fight fast duels with a computer in skirmish mode. In a multiplayer game, available online or on the local network, we can compete with other players in "one-on-one" mode or in the "free for all" mode for up to six people. In February 2014, thanks to GOG.com, the game was again distributed digitally - unfortunately without multiplayer mode.
