Players control a bird's-eye ship as they try to destroy all enemies on a board that moves from top to bottom. In an effort to be consistent with the original, developers decided to make changes to the game's audio-visual setting, adapting it to the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS console, including its three-dimensional display.
