Angela. Marvel's heroes who deserve their own movies

Table of Contents

  1. What it should be: a hell of a good TV series
  2. What would interest viewers to begin with: the story from Original Sin

While it's certainly not the most popular character on this list, Angela has a group of loyal fans. And It's constantly growing. This superhero has already appeared in animated films, she also made a cameo in a movie. However, she has never become a leading figure. But if Marvel can't have Spawn (and Image Comics isn't in a hurry to make a movie), why not use a gem like Angela?

It is worth noting that this character was created not for Marvel, but for Image Comics. It was created by Neil Gaiman (yes, the one known for Stardust and American Gods) and Todd McFarlane (The Amazing Spider-Man, Batman: Year Two, Haunt, and Spawn). It was transferred to Marvel comics only in 2013. She had a more interesting backstory in Image Comics – she was a bounty hunter trying to kill Spawn. In the MCU, she became... the firstborn daughter of Odin and Freya. And yes, the decision to find a place in Marvel for another descendant of the Asgard god may seem a bit far-fetched, but Angela completely makes up for these original shortcomings with a great appearance and spectacular way of fighting. In addition, the balance of the heroine between hell and superhero teams (namely: Guardians of the Galaxy and A-Force, with whom she often joins forces) seems to be extremely interesting.

For MCU Angela could be attractive precisely because of this "hellish" theme – one of her nicknames is after all the Queen of Hell. Kevin Feige has so far avoided bringing into the universe a character with a hellish pedigree. The closest was probably Hela, the creation of which used some of the attributes of Angela. Fortunately, this similarity is not so striking that she could not appear as a completely independent figure. At the moment, Disney's real plans for her cinematic or series appearance remain unknown.
