Half-Minute Hero. 15 games for 5-minute sessions
Table of Contents
WHAT EXACTLY WILL YOU DO HERE IN 5 MINUTES?
There is a chance with this title that in five minutes you'll even complete a few of the adventures prepared by the developers. However, completing the whole game will take much more, as even the main plot alone has as much as 30 quests. Moreover, the game has multiple modes, among them you can find a 300-second one or even... a 3-second one.
It's hard to call Half-Minute Hero a full-blooded RPG without eye rolling. It's more of a full-blooded parody of the genre. However, this does not prevent Half-Minute Hero from being a pretty good production, although governed by specific rules. The player assumes the role of the titular character, who must save the world. This involves reaching a certain level of the hero, and then defeating the boss. Yes, all this happens in just half a minute.
How does it work? We have a large clock in the upper part of the screen that counts down from 30 seconds, while the player traverses a small map eliminating small groups of monsters and increasing his level. Time only stops during cutscenes and when trading, so the whole fun takes the form of an arcade challenge, and every mistake ends in mission failure. If you're hooked and liked the first entry, you can check out Steam for the second installment, called Half-Minute Hero: The Second Coming . Definitely worth it.
