15. Darksiders: Genesis
The Darksiders series once again decided to go backwards with the plot instead of moving forward. This time, within Darksiders: Genesis, we get to know the beginning of the adventures of the horsemen of the apocalypse. We direct the fate of Strife and War, but in a completely different form than before - the classic slasher has gained an isometric view and has transformed into something like a hack'n'slash with platform elements. This isn't another Diablo clone, and we had some doubts about whether the game should be on this list, but it's worthy enough to ignore certain deviations from the genre framework.
The transformation of the series, surprisingly, turned out wonderfully! The developers managed to keep the essence of the original, so those familiar with the Darksiders series will find their place here without problems. Many new elements were introduced, and the change of perspective turned out to be a good idea. Battles are more dynamic, and boss fights are still impressive. Puzzles and arcade stages still require precision, though. Additionally, Darksiders: Genesis offers character development with the idea of playing your own style, so basically there is nothing to complain about.
The biggest attraction of this installment is the cooperative mode that allows you to complete the campaign, the Arena module, and the New Game with another player. It's worth noting that the layout of maps in co-op changes in a way that puzzles require cooperation, which works perfectly. The difficulty level also increases, so there's no chance of getting bored.
