Call of Duty - Skyrim VR is a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, created by MixedMartialArtist.

Description:

Turns SkyrimVR into a full on action packed VR Shooter, Call of Duty style. Skyrim is now a breeding ground for modern warfare, with huge fire fights breaking out on every corner where constant gunfire and explosions can be seen everywhere. Pick up a rifle or machine gun and fight alongside as you advance into enemy territory!

This mod brings Call of Duty into the world of Skyrim VR, combining one of the most famous FPS games with one of the most famous open-world RPG VR games. The Civil War in Skyrim is no longer fought with swords, bows, and axes, but instead guns, grenades, and rocket launchers. Guards, soldiers, and bandits will now present a much different challenge as they now carry modern firearms.

Hundreds of squads of soldiers have been added throughout the world, and are constantly moving across the map along main roads or trails, encountering small skirmishes, large battles, and ambushes in their journey. These squads range from 4-12 soldiers, and will typically consist of rifleman, machine gunners, corporals, sergeants, and occasionally officers. These soldiers can be seen either patrolling their own territory to defend against their enemies, or engaging in large campaigns where they are advancing into enemy territory, attempting to overtake enemy garrisons, forts, towns, cities, etc. Should a squad of soldiers find themselves outgunned, they may order a tactical retreat or even call nearby reinforcements to join in on the battle.

Upon joining a side in the civil war, you can join your fellow allied soldiers in their campaigns as they continue to fight and advance into enemy territory, where you will experience all the same thrills of a Call of Duty mission with the extra benefit of randomness/unpredictability as to where battles take place and how they occur, and not having to deal with a loading screen as you fight battle after battle, all while having the freedom to explore the world as you please.

Call of Duty - Skyrim VR adds over 12 new fully functional, and well implemented VR guns and explosive weapons to the game. They include bolt-action rifles, semi-action rifles, assault-rifles, light machine guns, submachine guns, rocket launchers, and grenades. Unlike other "gun mods", these guns are extremely well implemented in terms of their functionality, appearance, and sound effects. See below as to how guns in this mod work.

How Guns in this mod Work

  1. Each gun has their own magazine/clip size. Fire your gun enough times and you need to reload your weapon.
  2. You can manually reload your weapon by either double tapping the attack button or un-equipping and re-equipping your weapon.
  3. Each gun requires that you use their designated ammunition cartridge. You won't be able to load SMG rounds into your rifle if you ran out of rifle ammo.
  4. Each gun has their own unique recoil. For example, automatic weapons, especially light machine guns, produce a huge amount of recoil (screen shake) compared to bolt-action rifles.
  5. Each gun will produce a distinct muzzle flash upon firing. The size of the muzzle flash varies on the weapon.
  6. Each gun have varying effectiveness at different ranges. For example, rifles don't suffer any damage penalties when shooting at targets at long range, while submachine guns suffer major damage reduction at longer ranges.
  7. Each gun has their own unique critical damage. For example, rifles have the highest critical damage (especially bolt-action) while automatic weapons have lower critical damage.
  8. Some weapons incur movement penalties while others don't. For example, light machine guns and rocket launchers have huge movement penalties while firing on the move or reloading while others don't. Heavier weapons will restrict your movement speed.

In VR, you will be able to aim down the sights of each weapon to allow you to be more accurate in your aim. In order for these iron sights to be aligned, you need to have VRIK installed with hand scale set to 1.0 (for accurate weapon sizes), and in your SkyrimVR.ini set (fGunRotation = 65) and (?fCrossbowTranslateZ = 0). You can also turn off auto-aim to make your shots more consistent (?fAutoAimScreenPercentageVROverride = 0, fAutoAimScreenPercentageVR = 0). To manually reload your weapons, you can either double tap the attack button or un-equip and re-equip your weapon.

You will be able to toss grenades at the enemy groups and watch all of them explode. This requires WeaponThrowVR in order to work. I recommend setting gravity to 0.975 and Grenade Speed to 1000.

I also recommend using "Locational Damage SKSE VR" so that headshots will deal more damage (I prefer to turn off decapitation and headshot FX for this mod, and setting headshot damage multiplier to 2).

Here is a video demonstrating how these guns work in VR:

Becoming an Officer and Commanding Units

Upon joining the civil war faction, you have the ability to lead multiple squads of allied civil war soldiers. They range from smaller squads of 6 soldiers up to an entire platoon of 17 soldiers. They work similarly to followers, and use a custom follower framework unique to this mod.

To get started with commanding soldiers, you must join a civil war faction and go to HQ where you can find the squad leaders, and order them to follow you. There are a variety of dialogue options/commands you can issue to your units allow for more tactical gameplay. For example, you can order your squad to "fire at will" or to "hold their fire" (don't allow them to shoot unless you have your weapon drawn).

Hardcore Mode

Hardcore mode is an option in this mod, and can be toggled on or off as you wish. This will truly turn the game into an action packed FPS shooter. In this mode, 0-3 modern soldiers of either faction will randomly spawn near any non-Civil War or Guard NPC.

This means any NPC you come across, whether it is a fox, deer, Draugr, necromancer, bandit, or shopkeeper, there is a chance soldiers will spawn near them which may create an ensuing firefight. This means that the Draugr Crypt, Dwemer Ruin, Falmer Cave, or that random Inn you traveled might just be another potential garrison where your enemies may be hiding in that you will must clear out. This mode allows for many close quarters combat situations that otherwise are rarely found in the game outside of missions such as The Jagged Crown.

SE/AE Version

Call of Duty - Skyrim VR has a SE/AE Version found here. Overall it is the same mod but adapted for SE/AE gameplay.

Installation

Install with Nexus Mod Manager or extract into game’s Data folder manually and activate in launcher

Compatibility and Load Order

I recommend you start this on a new game. This is a huge mod, so put it at the end of your mod list. It is compatible with Open Civil War, but not Civil War Overhaul.

Requirements

Locational Damage SKSE VR

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch
