SPRAWL 96 is a mod for Quake, created by MAETH.

Description:

Commercial shooter SPRAWL drew full handfuls from the legacy of Quake. Therefore, in order to celebrate this classic of the id Software studio, the authors of the first of these projects decided to develop a modification that introduces elements of their game to the 1996 production.

The mod thoroughly reworks the gameplay. Most of the weapons and enemies were changed. A more acrobatic movement system, taken from SPRAWL, was also implemented.

We can play with the modification on all maps from Quake, as well as some fan-made levels.

Instructions:

Unzip the contents of the zip file into your /quake/ directory, so that the /sprawl/ folder is alongside, not in, the /id1/ folder. If you already have a previous version of SPRAWL 96 installed, overwrite everything.

If you’d like to keep things clean, you can disregard the above instructions and instead create a new folder called /sprawl96/, unzip the contents of the zip file into this folder, and copy the /id1/ folder into it, so that the /sprawl/ folder is alongside, not in, the /id1/ folder.

You can then open “Sprawl96.exe” and play.

Make sure you check out the help menu once you load in!
