CZ45's Quake 3 Arena Expansion-mod is a mod for Quake III: Arena, created by CannerZ45.

Description (in author’s own words):

This expansive mod compilation contains over a hundred addon skins, almost all of them scripted with bots. Over 20 additional maps, of varying (admittedly-amateurish) quality and themes. Proper HD retexture for weapons, none of that recolored, "shiny" shader-intensive stuff, retains the original design, just improved. Crosshairs tweak (clear and simpler), and a game mod with varied themes.

Requirements;

Vanilla Quake 3 Arena updated to PointRelease v1.32. I don't know how'll this mod would fare on older versions.

The amount of new skins/bots added, some game-altering mod, and my default set hunkmegs means you may require more ram than the orignal game required(which is easily attainable on today's machines anyway :)).

To install and to run;

1)Extract and place the "xfq3aem" folder to your base Quake3Arena

directory, which is OUTSIDE of the 'baseq3' folder.

2)(OPTIONAL) The 'modtype' folder contains various game modification files. Their respective folders are pretty self-explanatory, but description is included below. To make a choice, simply copy the .'pk3' file of your chosen mod folder into the "xfq3aem" directory, together with pak files "pakxy01B" and "pakxy02M". To apply a different game mode, replace with the mod of your choosing, to remove gameplay altering mods and simply play with vanilla Quake 3's, simply remove your placed "pakxy03G.pk3". You don't have to remove the "modtype" folder and it's contents.

3)To play, either run the given BAT file ("RunQ3ExpandedArena.bat")
