Environment Re-texture is a mod for Jurassic World Evolution, created by dannybob.

Description:

Jurassic World Evolution's environments felt rather dull to me and so I have created this mod to try and make the game more visually appealing. The primary feature here is the retexture of the terrain. New textures add more detail and colour variation between the different brushes, such as dirt and shrub. In addition, some of the props have gotten a re-work, including rocks and trees. More will come as I work on the mod.

Whats Included?

Many aspects of Jurassic World Evolutions environment has been altered with this mod ranging from terrain textures to scenery items. New terrain textures have been added to give more life into the enviornment and some rocks have been re-worked. There is also the addition of fallen tree logs that replace certain scenery items. scroll down to learn more about what's included.

All the main terrain textures have been replaced, from grass to sand, rock to shale. The textures add more detail and colour to Jurassic World Evolution's environments, replacing that constant green look the game has. The grass, shale and rock textures are now much more detailed than before and look much nicer compared to the green noise. Shrub textures have been replaced with a forest floor style texture, to make forest feel more like actual forests. Sand has been made to look less like wavy beach sand, and more like desert sand that will fit better around general park use. Mixing with the new dark dirt texture creates some nice results.

There is also an optional rock prop re-texture that is a bit lighter and adds moss. This is avaliable in the Alternate Shrub option too.

Not a fan of the dark mulch floor? I got you covered! I have added an alternate shrub texture for those that disliked the dark forest floor. The new textures are more aligned to that of the vanilla shrub colours, but still slightly different to give the ground more variation. The new shrub textures are a leafy/grass and light dirt texture. you do not need the main file if you want this one. You can find this under optional downloads.

Some of the rock scenery items have also recieved a makeover. I have remodelled Rock 1 into a more interesting looking formation, rather than just a hump looking thing. It also adds some nice verticality to the enviornment. Rock 5 has also recieved a makeover and is now a much larger and angled rock. You can choose to install 1 or both of the rocks, becuase having options is awesome.

LOGS! You can now get fallen trees in Jurassic World Evolution. They look nice but there are some issues.

Log 1 looks a bit spiky, but this is because I basically just took the redwood and laid it flat. I'll probably end up reworking the model later so it looks better. The log replaces rock number 3, so if you loved that rock, I'm sorry. Because it replaces a rock, it also uses the rock texture. I'm not sure how to replace textures as of yet, but it actually doesn't look too bad, Kind of like rotten bark. Finally, dinosaurs can phase through the log. Because it replaces the rock, it still has the rock boundries, and again, as of now I am unsure how to fix this. But hey, the dinosaurs phase through each other anyway, so it will just look natural!

Log 2 is much nicer and is the latest attempt at adding fallen logs. This log replaces Tree number 2 and so now has bark and leaves growing on it for extra detail. 1 small issue though, the log wiggles a slightly. As of now I cannot fix this, but the leaves covering the log hide this anyway, kinda.

Again you can install eihter 1 or both logs. Options!

Along with the trees is an optional retexture for the tree bark.

Install

1. unzip the zip files with something like winzip

2. Navigate to your game directory, typically in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jurassic World Evolution

3. drag the ovldata folder from the download into the win64 folder

!!!Make sure you back up your files before doing so!!!

If you lose stuff, it ain't my fault. I warned you.

Issues

The mulch is kinda difficult to see under the grass, but I didnt want to get rid of mud, so this is the best there is for now.

The textures are still low res and blurry just like vanilla, as for know I don't believe there is a fix and it's capped at 1k

The fallen log uses the rock texture, its not exactly game breaking though

Dinosaurs are able to phase through the fallen log, this is because it is a replacement for rock 3. Cannot be fixed as of now

Tree 2 wriggles slightly

Other Notes

For now only the diffuse textures are changed on the terrain, the other maps don't affect the visual look greatly. Apart from the sand, I changed the heightarray to remove the wavey look.
