Free implementation of Heroes of Might and Magic II game engine

Bassically it allows you to play the game on much better engine that offers full compatibility with modern OSes, improved AI, larger resolution support (and window resizing), faster unit splitting, countless bug fixes and instant battle option to skip easy fights (you can replay them later on manually if you want to change the outcome).

Instructions:

In this archive you will find four folders with different versions - for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows and SDL1 and SDL2. We recommend to use SDL2 version for latest OSes, while SDL1 is preferable for old systems.

You are required to have at a demo or full version of Heroes of Might and Magic II game to be able to play it.

If you do not have the original Heroes of Might and Magic II game please run 'demo_windows.bat' file on Windows, or open 'script/demo' directory and run

If you have a legally purchased game, you need to copy all files which belong to fheroes2 into a folder with the original game.

Imporant note:

In this archive you will only find the version of the project designer for Windows. But Fheroes2 also supports other systems and platforms, such as Linux, Mac and Vita,.You can download those versions on project's official Gitbub profile.
