Ground Control 2: Operation Exodus - Reversal Mod v.4 - Game mod - Download

Reversal Mod is a mod for Ground Control II: Operation Exodus, created by Flamecurse. It switches the factions around so that all three races can be played. The balance changes included in the mod address numerous long standing complaints about the original game while the faction swap provides a fresh experience to the gameplay. The mod has been built from scratch with full compatibility on all maps and missions in mind: Any map that worked with the original game will work with this mod. The campaign can also be played either as it was in the original (except with the new balance changes), or using the previously inaccessible Terran units instead.

Modes

The Reversal mod comes in three different flavors, referred to as modes. Each mode uses a different unit list and allows the player to choose from a different combination of the three factions. Because of code limitations (see below) only two factions can be active for the player at any given time, although the AI in skirmish and multiplayer can be set to use any of the three.

1. Reversal mode: Changes the NSA into the Terran Empire. Allows you to play the Terrans in the campaign, fighting against the NSA instead. Skirmish and Multiplayer is Terran vs Viron, with two AI profiles that deploy NSA units.
2. Revision mode: Does not swap factions from the original game, but still includes the balance changes. Skirmish and Multiplayer is NSA vs Viron, with two AI profiles that deploy Terran units.
3. Reviron mode: Changes the Virons into the Terran Empire in skirmish and multiplayer only. The campaign is the same as in Revision, i.e. NSA and Viron. Skirmish and Multiplayer is NSA vs Terran, with two AI profiles that deploy Viron units.

How to install:

1) Make sure your game is patched to 1.0.0.8.

2) Unzip all of the mod files into your Ground Control 2 root directory, e.g. C:\Games\GC2.

3) Start the game using either one of the .bat files included (All you have to do is double click on one, like an .exe) or through a shortcut with the appropriate command line added.

Creating Shortcuts

Since there isn't a proper installer to create these shortcuts for you (sorry about that), the simplest method is to just drag & drop the three .bat files from the GC2 directory into your start menu or desktop and use those

For anyone familiar with using command lines, you can alternatively create three separate shortcuts for gcii.exe and then add -mod filename.sdf to the target field of each, replacing "filename.sdf" with the mod file you want to use, such as "gc2reviron3.sdf". The three files used in this version are listed below:
