Description:
Much more detailed descriptions for what items do, including exact numbers for how much damage items/spells/skills do or how much a buff actually increases a stat by.
I completely rewrote the descriptions for every single item in the game, including spells, equipment, and weapon skills. These new descriptions are much more detailed and actually give an accurate description of what an item does. They include exact numbers, so if an item inflicts damage you will know how much damage it inflicts. If an item gives you some sort of buff you will be able to know what it buffs, exactly how much it buffs it by, and how long the effect lasts for.
Not only does this mod make descriptions a lot less vague, it also fixes a lot of vanilla descriptions which had missing, misleading, or even completely wrong information about what an item does. The information in this mod should be the most accurate source of information available. This is because I used modding tools to individually look up items and see exact numbers for things. I also used every item, casted every spell, and used every weapon skill to write entirely new descriptions for what they do.
These new descriptions do not alter the lore and physical description sections of item descriptions because it is important for that information to remain as it was written by the developers/translators. It does separate the item effect portions of the descriptions to make it easier to see what an item does, however.
I have also made some adjustments to the description portions of some of the menus. The primary purpose for this is to allow for much longer item descriptions. I did make some other adjustments to make the menus more organized and easier to read, such as the information at the top of the middle section of various menus. The crafting menu was changed the most with a new layout for the crafting ingredients and a new section below that displaying the item effect description for each item.
Instructions:
Download and install Mod Engine 2. (Can be installed anywhere on your PC you want - doesn't have to be in the game's folder)
Download and extract the archive into
Mod Engine 2's "mod" folder.
Launch the game through Mod Engine 2.
Make sure the game is running in offline mode and the AntiCheat (EAC) isn't running.
WARNING: you will almost certainly be banned if you play online with the mod active.
The anti-cheat must be disabled for this mod to load, this also means that you must play in offline mode. This is the case for all Elden Ring mods.
Create "steam_appid.txt" inside "xxxxx\ELDEN RING\Game\", write 1245620 inside the file.
Rename "start_protected_game" to "start_protected_game.old".
Create a copy of "eldenring.exe" and rename the copy to "start_protected_game".
The game should start without EasyAntiCheat loading up. You will get a message saying "Inappropriate activity detected" in the menu, this is fine.
Alternativelly you can use a mod that forces offline mode – for example Offline launcher (No EAC) or EldenRingEacToggler.
