Online play suport (Multiplayer Fix + Widescreen support) is a mod for Battlefield 1942, created by Team Simple.
Description:
It restores online functionality damaged by closure of GameSpy. This mod replaces original master server (master.gamespy.com) with fan-run master.bf1942.sk.
This mod also adds widescreen support.
Instructions:
Replace the original BF1942.exe with modified version from this archive. But pick one correctly. There are four versions of this .exe in the archive, depending on if you have retail or Origin version of the game and depending on if it’s updated to 1.61 or to 1.612.
Important note:
Support for the anti-cheat software PunkBuster in BF1942 has been discontinued by Evenbalance. Most servers do not have it enabled anymore, as such it is recommended to move the contents of <path-to-game>/pb/ to a backup folder, to avoid any disconnects by its service.
