Better Movement Speed is a mod for Starfield, created by JamesbonDB.

Description:

Better Movement Speed is a simple command line mod that aims to improve the game experience in order to reduce the movement speed when the player is jogging/running. And also to give you a better experience when aiming with a controller or mouse. ( Optional )

By following the instructions below, you will have a smoother and better experience with the game when exploring its scenery or during combats.

1. Optimizing Mouse Sensitivity for Screen Ratio >

  1. Adjusting mouse sensitivity to match screen display ratio
  2. Disabling mouse acceleration for smoother and precise experience

2. Fine-tuning Controller Responsiveness >

  1. Tweaking controller settings for precise aiming
  2. Enhancing controller response time

3. Improving Movement Experience >

  1. Smoothing out running and jogging motions
  2. Enhancing game exploration through decreased character movement speed

?Instructions:

1 - Extract the files and move ''mspeed.txt'' and ''mspeed_uninstall.txt'' directly into your starfield root main folder.

2 - Open the game and load your save file. Once it's loaded and you're inside the game press '' ( or ~ ) to open the console command.

3 - Type the following command in the dialogue box: bat mspeed

4 - Hit enter

The new movement speed option shall now be applied by default after saving your game.

If at any point you notice the movement speed is not applied by default when restarting your game, simply repeat the steps 3 and 4 above.

Optional: For mouse and controller improvement features:

1 - Paste the contents of ''Improvement_tweaks.txt'' in your ''StarfieldCustom.ini'' file present inside the ''My Games/Starfield'' Folder in your documents directory ( If you don't have this file you can simply create a text document inside this folder and name it ''StarfieldCustom.ini'' - save this document selecting the option ''all files'' and make sure the file extension is set to .ini

2 - Replace the * in fMouseHeadingYScale within the corresponding value of your display aspect ratio bellow:

0.03738 for 16:9

0.042 for 21:9

0.028 for 4:3

0.0336 for 16:10

0.07467 for 32:9

3. You can now save and close the file.
