Beyond the Borders - New Lands Mod is a mod for Fallout 4, created by thelonewarrior.

Description (in author’s own words):

Expands the map beyond the borders to the NORTH only, 20+ new locations, enemies and weapons and voice acted NPCs. Mod is complete and not a WIP.

You will need to or you wont be able to access the new areas as it requires a small tweak to the fallout.ini in order to sprint in the new areas (bug)

Description

This mod expands the map to the north past the natural end of the map, simply head there to discover new locations. Most are marked, many small locations are not. Because of the size of the mod is may cause FPS issues and slow the computer on some systems

This is a complete mod with new enemies(including 2 hidden bosses of a very high level both which have unique weapons and can be found following a set of hidden clues), 20+ new locations built from scratch , weapons and voice acted NPCS and a new raider gang called the "Desperadoes" only bug fixes will take place in future updates.

The locations are off the map, but it will be obvious when you have reached as far as you can go as the terrain will stop, you cant fast travel to the locations but you can fast travel back( however another mod expands the map to allow fast travel see below in installation), simply go off exploring the new huge expansion I have created.

I have kept it as Lore Friendly as possible but it does contain a lot of Easter Eggs from various things and also includes 1 hidden unmarked quest, there are hidden containers with a puzzle to solve

I have spent 4 months building this since the creation kit was released, all I can say is have fun and keep your eyes open for secrets hidden around the new areas

Also note it's a large file and 1 or 2 locations may have more enemies than some lower end systems can handle so bear on mind there may be some FPS drop or crashes if your computer has lower specs, my computer is a medium spec system and handles it well so shouldn't be a problem in most cases

Installation

Back up your saves before installing just in case

Does NOT require any DLC but is incompatible with the following:

keynuker mod (causes Random CTD, however may work with worldspace data file) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5108/?

Far Harbour DLC --( patch avaliable) Caused fence to appear through gas station and makes some areas of the mod to be inaccessible due to conflicting terrain (however there is now a patch by jimbot70 here for this, however this doesn't fix the CTD that a few people experience: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17389/?

National guard omega mod -- http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12835/?

Some people have had some issues with Far Harbour, some people have reported using it and having massive CTD with far harbour installed and others have reported not a single CTD with it installed and terrain issues but for some people they don't appear at all

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will need to do the following before installation:

1. Go to my games/ fallout4 and locate to fallout.ini and the falloutcustom.ini and add the following lines:

[Gameplay]

fPlayerDisableSprintingLoadingCellDistance=0

This is because a game bug wont allow sprinting in new areas, with this tweak you can sprint as normal

THIS CAN NOT BE DONE ON XBOX OR PS4, SO I CANT CONVERT IT OVER TO THE CONSOLES

2. You also need to install a mod that REMOVES the borders, they can be found on the nexus easily

This file should work so install it:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4658/?

Or just add the „bBorderRegionsEnabled=0” Line into Fallout.ini

Once you have done that: I recommend the following

I have Beyond the Borders at the very bottom of my NMM plugins list, I also installed it manually HOWEVER, because the worldspace data is bugged, some people may be able to eliminate their CTDs by putting this mod at the very top of their mod list on NMM or by using the worldspace data file explained below

If you have issues please uninstall the mod and install manually, place the mod at the bottom of the list and tell me if it makes any difference

Or just try moving around the load order in general to see if it makes any difference, I believe this way may eliminate any CTD you are having if you are having them at all, I'm not having any CTD

THIS CAN NOT BE DONE ON XBOX OR PS4, SO I CANT CONVERT IT OVER TO THE CONSOLES

3.If you want to be able to see the map markers and fast travel there, install this mod:

Satellite world map(should be below BTB in load order) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8989/?

4.

If you are getting CTD, there is a file that is optional. It contains the worldspace data from Fallout 4 and if you place it at the very bottom of the load order (even under BTB main) it should load that first. I wouldnt reccomend you trying this file unless you are getting CTD with the main file installed. If you do use this file, load it from a clean save from before you installed BTB main (but with BTB main active on your mod list so that these two files load together)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Load order

The best load order if you are using the mods mentioned above is:

Beyond the borders FO4.esp (Anywhere above these two files should work)

BTB Worldspace Data (must ALWAYS be below BTB main file in the load order if using this file)

Sallitlite world map mod

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MOD Team

I won't be doing any more work on this at the moment, only bug fixes as it was quite the project and took a lot or my time so I'm taking a break from modding except for bug fixes
