FO3 Combat Realism is a mod for Fallout 3, created by McclaudEagle.

Description:

FO3 Combat Realism is fairly self explanatory in its name. It's a mod that drastically changes most aspects of combat to make the game more realistic and considerably more dangerous. This mod aims to make the Wasteland a much harsher place, where mistakes can easily get you killed.

Important: This mod has been optimized for the Normal difficulty setting only. Using easier or harder settings will have unrealistic effects.

WHAT THIS MOD AFFECTS:

Player/NPCs

Both the player and NPCs all have the same health, meaning the player can take the same damage as NPCs take.

Creatures

Creatures of the Wasteland are now much more dangerous. Even the lowly Mole Rat can kill an unprepared player if he/she doesn't respond fast enough.

Weapons/Explosions

All weapons and explosions have been tweaked to be as realistic as possible. Many explosions will have blast radius' similar to their real-world counterparts. All guns can kill instantly with headshots, provided helmets aren't worn.

Armor/Clothing

Armor and clothing have been tweaked to be as realistic as possible. Leather will not stop bullets, but is useful against weaker melee weapons. Likewise, Power Armor will stop quite a few bullets depending on the weapon used. Clothing does not have any damage resistance.

Vehicles

All destructible vehicles have had their health increased to a realistic level, and are much more dangerous due to their increased explosion power.

Auto Aim

Auto aim has been semi-disabled. What is meant by this is that, technically, it hasn't been disabled (and shouldn't, as it controls bullet pathing), but your bullets will no longer target NPCs.

Game Settings

Certain game settings have been altered to create the desired effects within this mod.

DLC Support

All official DLCs have their own compatibility patch.

Installation

1. Extract the contents of this mod into a temporary location.

2. Copy and paste the FO3 Combat Realism - Vanilla.esp file into your Fallout 3 Data folder (C:...\Fallout3\Data)

Install the DLC compatibility patch .esp files in the same way.
