Zemo, Omega Red, Silver Samurai and Other Cameos from X-Men '97 Episode 8
X-Men '97 episode 8 was rich in various cameos. Here you can find out which Marvel characters made guest appearances in the animated series.
In X-Men '97 there is a war between mutants and humans, which was started by Bastion, who wants to get rid of everyone with supernatural powers. Many surprising things happened in this episode, and there were sudden returns of heroes. In addition, X-Men '97 episode 8 was full of cameo appearances of characters that fans of the comic books, movies and TV series are certainly familiar with, but whose presence in this production wasn’t expected.
One of the characters who scored a guest appearance was Baron Helmut Zemo, who in X-Men '97 is a member of Zero Tolerance. And he's not the only one, as this group also includes Doctor Doom, who, with Zemo, casts doubt on Bastion's plan.
In addition, during the EMP explosion that was caused by Magneto, we could briefly see Spider-Man from Spider-Man: The Animated Series, whose appearance was probably the biggest and nicest surprise for Marvel fans.
In the same scene we also saw Silver Samurai and Omega Red, who previously appeared in X-Men: The Animated Series and faced Wolverine there. It's unclear if their appearance is just a nice, little present for fans of the original, or if it foreshadows new problems for Logan.
And while we had quite a few adventures of the Summers family in the episode, more specifically Cyclops, Jean Grey and Cable, it turns out that they weren’t its only representatives. Episode 8 also featured Rachel Summers, the daughter of Cyclops and Jean. So, as you can see, this was an episode that focused heavily on just the Summers, given how numerous they appeared in it.
And while we've already mentioned quite a few cameos, it's important to mention one more character who made a guest appearance in the series – William Stryker. He is one of the most dangerous adversaries the X-Men have faced. His presence in X-Men '97 means that there is still a lot of evil waiting for the mutants of this world.
The latest episode of X-Men '97 was rich in many surprises, so it's hard to guess what we can expect from the next ones. There are still two episodes left of the season 1, where new surprises are sure to await viewers.
