GTA 5 Price and Data Volume on PS5 and XSX/S

It looks like Grand Theft Auto 5 will be a little cheaper at launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At least if the recent reports are to be believed.

Next week Grand Theft Auto V will hit the 9th-gen consoles, but we're still waiting for confirmation of the release details - for example price and data volume of GTA 5 and GTA Online, which we had to learn about unofficially.

GTA V for PS5 and XSX/S - data volume...

The information comes from Twitter posts of accounts specializing in tracking PlayStation and Xbox system changes: PlayStation Game Size and Aggiornamenti Lumia. Mentions also appeared, among others, in a thread created by Ben T, an insider well known to fans of Rockstar Games.

  1. GTA Online will supposedly take 86.84 GB on PlayStation 5 and 94.83 GB on Xbox Series X/S.
  2. Rockstar Games confirmed that the game files will be available for download tomorrow, a week before the digital release (the boxed edition will debut in April).

...and discount on launch

  1. As for the price, Australian Twitter user Ditto 2046 posted a screenshot of the PS5 with the product card of GTA V. The special price is set at 15 Australian dollars, which is a bit under $11.
  2. PlayStation Game Size gives the prices of the story campaign of GTA 5 and GTA Online at of 40 and 20 US dollars respectively.
  3. Please note that in the case of Sony's platform GTA Online will be available for free for three months after the release as a standalone item.

We do not know the price of the Xbox Series X/S edition yet, but Ben T noticed that Microsoft's official website has some information about a discount for GTA Online. Until June 14 the network module of GTA V will be available at half price.

Currently Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition costs $29.99 on Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store (ingoring the discount, which ends on March 8). This would also explain the price noted by Ditto 2046 on PS5.
