Devs of Library of Ruina Release F2P RPG Inspired by Darkest Dungeon

Today marked the release of Limbus Company - a F2P strategy game with RPG elements in the style of the popular Darkest Dungeon. The game attracted the attention of thousands of players from day one.

Premiering today on Steam and mobile devices is Limbus Company - a F2P game from Korean studio ProjectMoon that combines RPG and strategy elements.

Looking at the game, one gets the impression that it is somewhat reminiscent of another successful game combining elements of RPG and strategy - Darkest Dungeon.

Korean craze

Limbus Company is the third game by developers from ProjectMoon. The studio's previous titles - Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina - also combined elements of strategy with RPG. In both cases, we can talk about a successful mix, as the titles were very well received (94% and 93% positive reviews on Steam, respectively).

Limbus Company has a chance to follow in the footsteps of previous ProjectMoon games, as so far player reviews on Steam are as positive as they were for the studio's two previous - at the time of writing, 94% of more than 1,600 player reviews are favorable.

In terms of gameplay mechanics Limbus Company relies on turn-based combat, with a note that "during the combat phase, units on both sides will act simultaneously." Heroes can develop their skills to create the most effective combinations against enemies.

Problems at the start

Despite positive reviews, not everything on launch day worked out as the developers had hoped. In the early hours, the servers did not work properly due to too many login attempts at one time.

In addition, it was later reported that there were problems with the integration of the game's version on Steam versus its mobile versions on Android and iOS.

The developers had to issue yet another message, in which they apologized for a bug by which items purchased in the game might not appear in the player's inventory if the game is "forcibly closed." This most likely means that Limbus Company may crash.

Nevertheless, despite all the initial problems, the game seems to be off to a really strong start - at the moment Limbus Company on Steam is played by more than 21,000 people (via SteamDB).
