Tales of Crestoria is mobile installment of the Tales of... series, whose roots date back to 1995 and the SNES console. Next to Final Fantasy, it is one of the longest-living jRPG franchises. Bandai Namco has been developing the series since its conception.

Plot

In the game world, every citizen has a so-called sphere of vision. Thanks to it, any misdemeanour committed by a given person is visible. Tales of Crestoria focuses on the fate of two heroes - Katana and Misella. Katana is the son of a monk governing a village. He believes blindly in the system. Misella is an orphan who will sacrifice everything to defend her beloved.

One night they commit a crime that has them sentenced to death. Their accidental meeting with the demon of crime, Vicious, saves them from the punishment. It gives the heroes the choice on which their future depends.

In the course of the game, the pair of heroes will be joined by other characters, who also escape from the law for the crimes they committed.

Mechanics

Tales of Crestoria is a classic representative of the jRPG genre. Moving around the game world, divided into separate locations, the player interacts with NPCs and performs quests.

A major change is the transition to a turn-based combat system, which replaced the real-time system used in previous games. The player moves together with the team. With the progress of the game, they gain experience points, which can be used to learn new skills.

Technical aspects

Tales of Crestoria is dominated by light colors. Three-dimensional graphics rely on manga style visuals.
